BLA Claims Control Over Pakistani Army Camp in Sorab BLA Claims Control Over Pakistani Army Camp in Sorab

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said that on July 10, 2025, they attacked a Pakistani army camp in the Gidar area of Sorab. They took control of two parts of the camp, destroyed a quadcopter, killed 18 soldiers, and lost one of their commanders, Haroon Baloch, who died as a martyr.

On social media, there are various accounts of what happened. Some people say the attack was stopped and that several BLA fighters were killed, while others agree with the BLA’s version of events.

The event could not be confirmed independently because there was no official statement from the Pakistani army or any confirmation from major news outlets.

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said they attacked a major Pakistani army camp on July 10, 2025, in the Gidar area of Sorab, Balochistan. They called the attack a “success,” claiming they took control of parts of the camp, killed 18 soldiers, and that their commander, Haroon Baloch (also known as Dostin), was killed. They also mentioned that they carried out three more attacks in Panjgur, Balida, and Mach, targeting the army, its supply routes, and those who support them.

BLA’s Statement After Attacks

According to BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, the attack details are as follows:

  • The attack began around 11 PM and lasted over an hour.
  • Two sections of the camp were captured, while their commander, Haroon Baloch, was martyred during an attempt to seize the third section.
  • At least 11 soldiers were killed, several fled, and weapons and ammunition were seized from the camp.
  • A quadcopter used for surveillance was shot down.
  • Reinforcing army convoys were attacked:
    • A five-vehicle convoy was ambushed, with two vehicles destroyed, forcing the army to retreat.
    • A 12-vehicle convoy was targeted with a remote-controlled IED, destroying one vehicle, damaging another, and killing seven more soldiers, with 11 injured.
  • Additional attacks in Panjgur, Balida, and Mach:
    • In Panjgur, an IED attack on a CPEC route convoy killed one soldier and injured three.
    • In Balida, two supply vehicles were seized.
    • In Mach, an army informant, Abdul Ghaffar Rajput, was severely injured in a grenade attack.

Details about Haroon Baloch:

  • He was from Kishengi, Balghani in Nushki.
  • Joined BLA in 2022, initially engaging in urban guerrilla activities, later moving to the mountainous front.
  • He led operations in Kalat, Nushki, and Kharan and was part of the elite Fateh Squad.
  • He was a childhood friend of Martyr Yasin ( Aliyas Rauf) from the same area.

The BLA described his martyrdom as part of the ongoing Baloch national movement, symbolizing generational resistance and inspiring Baloch youth.

Comparison with Other Sources

Social media posts on X (formerly Twitter) about the incident showed conflicting narratives:

  • @ConflictMoniter reported that BLA claimed to have killed 11 security personnel and destroyed two vehicles in a convoy attack.
  • @Hamza_Lashari18 claimed the security forces repelled the attack, killing 3 to 6 BLA fighters, with others fleeing.
  • @RealBababanaras claimed BLA gained complete control of Sorab and inflicted heavy losses on the army, though this seems exaggerated.
  • @JunaidKBaloch called BLA a “Indian-funded gang” and claimed the forces inflicted heavy losses, with attackers fleeing.
  • Some posts, like @BalochkUpdates, mentioned a related attack on July 9 at the Asth Shirin checkpost, where security forces reportedly repelled BLA and caused losses.

However, these claims are contradictory, and no official statement or confirmation from primary news sources was found.

Social Media Reports July 10 and 11, 2025

These posts present different viewpoints, with some supporting BLA’s claims while others highlighting the achievements of the security forces.

Our Research Team searched on the web and found that Zrumbesh Urdu News shared the BLA’s statement. Still, we were unable to access the complete content from their Facebook page, making it impossible to verify independently.

There were no official updates from the Pakistani army (ISPR) or primary news sources like Dawn, Express Tribune, or BBC Urdu that confirmed the Sorab attack on July 10, 2025. The other reports we found discussed BLA attacks in 2025 (specifically in March, May, and June), but none specifically confirmed this particular incident.

BLA announced a big attack on July 10, 2025, in Sorab, saying that the army suffered heavy losses and that they took partial control of the camp.

However, there are conflicting reports on social media, with no official or independent confirmation, which suggests that BLA might be exaggerating their claims.

Until we get more verification, we can’t confirm the details of the incident. Future official statements or independent reports may help clarify the situation.
